I wanna dance with somebody!..
The world was shutting down due to an apocalyptic pandemic, the news was becoming too insane to handle and I had never even heard of Zoom. What started as a random experiment, turned into 10 weeks STRAIGHT of us transforming our basement into a virtual nightclub on Saturday nights while the baby was asleep upstairs!
In all, we had friends, family and strangers from about 20 states + Canada tune in.
Folks just kept showing up!
I eventually had to enlist the help of DJ Scratchensniff and DJ CatDaddy to pipe in from their respective living rooms. I received kind notes of appreciation and messages about dancing induced sore muscles. We even had on-screen, quarantine haircuts!
Each Sunday, with the few moments I had while Veda was napping, I’d watch the videos from the night before– always hysterical, sometimes moved to tears. Strangely, gathering people from every corner of my life to connect and let go through internet waves, feels like one of the most important projects I’ve orchestrated to date.
I will cherish this Zoom room forever!
